Nii Mantse, mit Künstlernamen
King Solomon, komponiert und textet seit früher Kindheit
und spielte in seinen Jugendjahren auf selbstgebauten Instrumenten in einer Family-Band
in Ghana. Seine heutigen Melodien und Texte haben absolut traditionellen Ursprung, sind
aber auf geniale Weise den aktuellen Dance-Sounds angepaßt. Er schafft so eine
gelungene Überlieferung der alten ghanesischen Folksongs von Melodie und Inhalt, die
sich unmißverständlich Gehör verschafft auch bei der jungen Disco-Generation.

Nii Mantse, with his artists
name King Solomon, is composing and text writing since his
early cildhood and played in a family band on self-manufactured instruments as a
juvenile. His nowadays melodies and texts have an absolutely traditional origin but in a
brilliant way are adapted to actual dance sounds. This way he realizes a successful
tradition of old Ghanaian folk songs with their melody and contents, unintelligibly
demanding the ears even of the young disco generation.
