Die Magazines Band stammt wie so viele
Naturtalente in Afrika buchstäblich von der
Straße oder aus dem Busch, wo heute noch die alten Traditionen gepflegt werden und
die Jungen versuchen,die herkömmliche Lebensweise mit den Neuerungen der
Gegenwart angenehm zu verknüpfen. Der pulsierende, stete Rhythmus ist bezeichnend
für diese Straßenunterhaltung die im Stil der Bänkelsänger von einst Geschichten und
Geschichtchen des täglichen Lebens weiterträgt. Mehr oder weniger als Zufalls-
bekanntschaft wurde die Gruppe für Live-Auftritte entdeckt und schließlich zu
Aufnahmen ins Tropical Recording Studio nach Malindi geholt, wo diese Produktion
entstand.

The Magazines Band orgins as many other
nature talents in Africa literally from the street
or from the bush, where also nowadays the old traditions are cultivated and the young
ones try to unit the conventional way of life with the innovations of today nicely. The
pulsing, steady rhythm is signifcant for this street-entertainment which in the manner of
the former ballad-singers carries further stories and tales. More or less as a fortuitous
acquaintance the group was discovered for live performances and finally taken to the
Tropical Recording Studio to Malindi, where this CD was produced.
