"The Royal Garden Five" fing 1993
als Quartett (Four) an, als Ray Austin den Auftrag
erhielt, eine Serie von "New Orleans Jazz Brunches" zu organisieren. In der
Folgezeit
machte sich die Band einen guten Namen in Jazzclubs, auf Festivals und Stadt-,
Betriebs- und Privat-Festen und wurde durch einen Schlagzeuger ergänzt, der viel
mehr mitbringt, als nur Rhythmus.
Ihre Musik ist eine Mischung aus traditionellem Jazz, Swing und Blues, die langsam
aber sicher ihren ganz eigenen Charakter entwickelt hat.

"The Royal Garden Five"
originated as the "Royal Garden Four" in April 1993 when
Ray Austin was asked to provide a weekly "New Orleans Jazz Brunches". The
quartet
slwoly made a name for itself in jazzclubs, at festivals and diverese celebrations and
was finally supplemented by a drummer who supplies much more than just rhythm.
Their music is a mixture of traditional jazz, swing and blues which has developed its
own character during the last few years.
